On the 16th of May 2016, in the villages Northwest of Jerusalem, a new group of paraprofessional mothers graduated the training course of mother-to-mother program. The course started in September 2015 and finished in May 2016 with the participation of 20 women from the villages northwest of Jerusalem( Al Jeeb, Beit Duqqo, Biddo, Qubeibah, Qattanna, Beit Anan, Beit Soreek). It addressed different topics like early childhood development stages (from pregnancy to three years old), the importance of playing, stories, folklore songs, children’s right in nutrition and medical care, social upbringing and self-empowerment. The duration of the course was 200 hours in which the mothers gained knowledge and skills needed to practice in their daily lives and with their families. In addition to preparing them to counsel other mothers from their neighborhood.
The participants were active and supported each other. At the end of the graduation day, certificates and pamphlets related to mother-to-mother program were distributed to the participants.
