The Elderly groups

The Trust’s coordinators and paraprofessionals, who work in our different programs, and in the community educational centers (CECs), mainly the members of the women committees, have reported the need to address the emerging needs of elders as vulnerable groups who have been alienated in the midst of the ongoing conflict. Many elders either live alone, or their family is uncapable to provide for them.
Emergency measures were taken and special activities developed include awareness raising, stress relief, self-care, recreational days, and providing meals to the elderly. Around 200 elderly men and women benefited from these activities so far.

Inclusion of children with disabilities

This program aims at inclusion of children with disabilities, and raising the families’ awareness to the needs and rights of these children, while introducing them to the local institutions that can offer support and rehabilitation.
Two specialized clinics for speech therapy and occupational therapy were established in collaboration with local organizations and municipal councils. By end of 2024,The program has reached over 100 families in villages northwest of Jerusalem through home visits, awareness-raising workshops, and free check-up campaigns. The newly established clinics in Biddo and Beit Anan have provided essential therapeutic services to 50 children, focusing on speech therapy, eye and hearing tests, and physical therapy.

Community Educational Centres (CEC) offer educational and recreational services for children and parents in their respective communities

The CECs were established through the preschool empowerment program to serve the local community in their area. The centers are open to the local community, mainly children, young women and parents involved in our programs. They all enjoy and benefit from the educational and recreational activities designed for the whole family with the child as the center of the activity. An example of these activities: group counseling, awareness raising campaigns that include free physical check-ups, learning groups, sports, arts workshops, fun-days, and grandmothers’ group.

Community Based Preschool Education Program

The Community based preschool education program aims at developing the preschools as a whole unit of intervention and developing the teachers’ inborn potential to interact with the children following the life-oriented approach in a safe and supportive environment.

Young Women Empowerment and Prevention of Early Marriage Program

Education is the instrument used to foster the development of positive personalities, self-awareness and self-confidence among school girls and young women as well as to reverse the trend of early marriages by raising family and social awareness about the (negative) consequences of such social practices. The program also gives young women who dropped-out of school an opportunity to resume and continue with their education.

Mother to Mother Program

The program supports and strengthens the parenting skills and social awareness of mothers (and fathers), by training a group of mothers to become paraprofessionals and counsel other mothers from their neighborhood, individually and collectively, to be effective members of society at both the family and community levels.

The Learn by Play Program

The program aims at limiting illiteracy and decreasing the drop-out rate from schools by operating on three levels: parents, school teachers and young volunteers with the child as the center of the activity, working in small groups of elementary pupils mainly the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade to build up the basic acquired skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic through work papers and didactical activities. Under the program, young volunteers are trained to be mentors of children with learning difficulties.

Combating Domestic Violence Program

Which was initiated as a result the socio-political and economical situation resulting in spread of domestic violence against women and children. The Trust developed this program with the support of BMZ through Caritas Germany to deal with this phenomenon and continues to develop new capabilities to equip it with the necessary skills and technical know how to face the challenges of family violence. The need for skills is ever increasing.

Outlook for sustainable development

Aspiring childhood programs institution in the future phase of the deployment of programs in new areas, and deepening vocational programs carried out in different areas while maintaining a participatory approach in the planning and implementation of community-based programs, and continue to local human capacity building and dependable as a base community oversees the future programs. It also aspires to the continuation and strengthening networking with local community institutions, whether civil or official institutions institutions, in terms of planning across different sectors to unite the energies and efforts and capabilities available to the efficacy of the programs offered to the beneficiaries.
