A four-day training workshop to strengthen the administrative skills of program coordinators

As part of the cooperation and strengthening of relations between the TRUST of programs and the municipalities of Biddu, Beit Surik, Al-Jib, Qatanna, and Beit Anan, an MOU was signed to establish a community center in each village. The municipalities will provide venues for implementing the various program activities and form steering committees for these community centers.

In preparation for the implementation of these MOUs, the TRSUT held a four-day training workshop from August 25–28, 2025, aimed at enhancing the administrative skills of the program coordinators in the villages of Northwest Jerusalem and Shu’fat Refugee Camp. The training was held at Caesar Hotel – Ramallah, with the participation of the TRUST’s staff working in the Northwest Jerusalem villages and Shu’fat Camp, The workshop was facilitated and lead by the TRSUT’s director general Mr. Farid Abu Ghosh.

The training covered several topics over the four days. The first day focused on the concept of community centers and their management styles, including leadership styles such as the “authoritarian” and “participatory” models.

The second day concentrated on teamwork and the qualities of an effective staff, presenting different types of teams such as multidisciplinary teams, planning teams, executive teams and task forces.

On the third day, participants discussed their perception of the TRUST’s structure and effectiveness, the synergy of balancing the professional and personal maturity and its impact on workplace.

The fourth and final day was dedicated to summarizing the training, delving into the topic of community organizing and change strategies, and discussing the expected reactions from official institutions. Participants were also divided into working groups to develop future plans for the community centers and prepare implementation projects.

This workshop comes within the framework of the TRUST’s efforts to strengthen the administrative and leadership capacities of its’ staff, contributing to institutional development and improving the quality of services provided to the local community.
This workshop will be followed by monthly workshops aimed at consolidating what they have learned.

Summer Activity 2025

The Trust of Programs for Early Childhood, Family and Community Education has successfully concluded its summer camp series across all its active sites, bringing together over 200 children aged 6 to 10 years old. Centered around the theme of importance of social capital in education, the camps offered a rich blend of recreational, cultural, and character-building activities that nurtured a sense of belonging and identity among the children. The camps were met with strong moral support from the local community, and the spirit of volunteerism shone through the leadership of young women volunteers who guided and inspired the children throughout. This camp was a true celebration of community, tradition, and the power of collective care.

The Elderly groups

The Trust’s coordinators and paraprofessionals, who work in our different programs, and in the community educational centers (CECs), mainly the members of the women committees, have reported the need to address the emerging needs of elders as vulnerable groups who have been alienated in the midst of the ongoing conflict. Many elders either live alone, or their family is uncapable to provide for them.
Emergency measures were taken and special activities developed include awareness raising, stress relief, self-care, recreational days, and providing meals to the elderly. Around 200 elderly men and women benefited from these activities so far.

Inclusion of children with disabilities

This program aims at inclusion of children with disabilities, and raising the families’ awareness to the needs and rights of these children, while introducing them to the local institutions that can offer support and rehabilitation.
Two specialized clinics for speech therapy and occupational therapy were established in collaboration with local organizations and municipal councils. By end of 2024,The program has reached over 100 families in villages northwest of Jerusalem through home visits, awareness-raising workshops, and free check-up campaigns. The newly established clinics in Biddo and Beit Anan have provided essential therapeutic services to 50 children, focusing on speech therapy, eye and hearing tests, and physical therapy.

Activity Day

On 02.06.2025, the Trust of programs carried out an activity day to celebrate the end of school year. 60 students participated in various activities such as: challenging games, making bubbles, arts, singing and dancing. At the end of the day the students expressed how happy they felt during the activities.

Film: “Breaking the Silence”

Based on the positive feedback received from the young women empowerment program in the previous year, the production of short films was adopted as an effective tool for delivering social and behavioral messages in a language that is understandable to girls.
As reported from the fieldwork conducted in schools, sexual harassment was selected as a topic for the production of a new short film titled “Breaking the Silence”, with the aim of raising awareness on this sensitive issue and supporting girls in expressing their experiences and facing challenges.

Study Day “Children with Disabilities in the Northwest Jerusalem Villages”

On April 22, 2025 the Trust of programs held a study day titled: “Children with Disabilities in the Northwest Jerusalem Villages” with the participation of representatives from partner organizations.

The participants discussed the psychological and social challenges affecting children with disabilities and their families, the role of community support, the rights of children with disabilities and the urgent need for specialized therapeutic centers in the region due.

The study day concluded with a success story of a young girl with a disability, highlighting her ability to overcome challenges and achieve excellence despite the difficulties.

Fun Day

On 26.02.2025, the Trust of programs held a fun day for 60 students of the learn by play program at the Palestinian Child Center / Shufat Refugee Camp. The day included various outdoor activities, challenge games and face painting, in addition to chanting singing and dancing.

Study Day ” Post- Trauma Self Care”

On 19.02.2025, in cooperation with Juzoor, the Trust of Programs held a study day for the Young Women Empowerment Program titled “Post-Trauma Self-Care”. 40 young girls participated in this day which focused on understanding the concept of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), its causes, symptoms, effects on the human body, and the importance of self-care through exercises and activities.

Volunteer Day at Augusta Victoria Hospital

On 26.02.2025 The Trust of Programs carried out a volunteer day at Augusta Victoria Hospital with the children and their mothers from the cancer and kidney departments. Mothers and children participated in making lanterns and decorations to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan . At the end of the day gifts were distributed to the children who expressed their happiness on this day.
